Entering Paraguay as an U.S. Citizen (Ingresando a Paraguay como un ciudadano de los EEUU): U.S. citizens must obtain a Paraguayan visa prior to entering the country. This can be done at an embassy or a visa on arrival at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (before clearing customs). The Paraguay visa currently costs $160 USD. We opted for the latter option. Make sure you have crisp, unmarked/unfolded U.S. dollars. Any money with folded edges or marks will be rejected. If you need to withdraw money, there’s an ATM to the left of the visa window. Upon arrival, we went to the window with U.S. dollars ready. In total, the process took about 15 minutes and then we went on to the customs line.
Where to Stay: We used AirBNB (using this link will give you a credit for your first stay) to book an apartment in Asunción’s Catedral district. // Utilizamos AirBNB (usando este enlace le dará un crédito para su primera estancia) para reservar un departamento en el distrito Catedral.
What to Eat: While in Asunción, we explored the Catedral district where we stayed. During the 14 days there, we ate at Restaurante Bolsi at least 6 times. It’s delicious and has a large variety of food. I highly recommend it. // Mientras que en Asunción, exploramos el barrio de la Catedral, donde nos alojamos. Durante los 14 días allí, comimos en el restaurante Bolsi al menos 6 veces. La comida allí es rica y tiene un gran variedad de cosas. Lo recomiendo.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Although we changed money for Paraguayan Guaraní, it’s not absolutely necessary. Every place we visited accepted USD (and sometimes Brazilian Reis) in addition to Guaraní. Even in restaurants, the bill came with those exchange rates listed. // Puede usar USD, Reis de Brasil, y Guaraní para pagar en Asunción.

- Getting there // dirección: Depending on proximity, you can walk or a take a cab or bus. Cab fare from Catedral area will run about $5 USD roundtrip. - In the archive // dentro del archivo: All of the holdings related to Operation Condor are digitized. Users browse the holdings and write a list of document numbers.
